I now have a Vaahan

After reaching Bhuj and checking into the homestay, I decided to get a bike for rent to roam around nearby areas. I picked up a RE classic. With the bike I felt more confident that I can go wherever I want whenever I want.

I decided to go to Kalo Dungar. It’s a small hill with a temple on top. But the best part is the entire stretch of the Rann will be visible from the top.

The ride to Kalo Dungar was fantastic. The roads were ok but the views were stunning. Barren desert on both side of the road to the distance the eye can see.

The final destination Kalo Dungar was breathtaking beauty. Amazing views and absolutely no complaints. There were many tourists and also too many vendors. Somehow I didn’t find it to be a place where you can sit for long and enjoy. It was more of a visit, click pictures and return place. It is both a photographers and models delight.

There were parts where I had to ride in the middle of the desert as the roads were getting fixed and the diversion was via the desert. For a while it was fun, but it was definitely not fun when the car in front spewed fine dry desert mud all over me.

I saw some good folk songs being sung too. In a setting like this it sounded good.
