We decided we will go to the Pandals only in the morning as the evenings were super crowded. The exterior lights cannot be witnessed but it’s a good trade off as we can see the interiors in peace without any crowd. The interiors feel the same during the day and night as it’s usually fully covered and lit based on the theme lighting.
The Pandal was at Tala Prattoy. The theme of the Pandal was Biyojon (detachment). It was to leave all worldly attachments behind and to have a deeper connection with the divine. The Durga was taking it quite literally I believe.
The Durga was modern, no anger, calm and smiling, hands in the air, no killing Mahishasur. Wearing a teal coloured saree and….. FLOATING.
The idol was just floating in mid air. Of course it was an illusion but it looked different, fresh. It was a simplistic Pandal but one of the most radically different Pandal we saw. Lot of metal used. Interesting design for sure.
