We traveled almost for almost 8 hours from Shimla to this small village named Janglik. On the way, we ate a Himachali dish called Siddu. It is a wheat bun stuffed with KhusKhus and later steamed. It tasted like a variant of Kadubu or Kozhakattai.
The travel

We travelled across various terrains. But mainly we travelled near the Pabri river. There is definitely something about the rivers in the Himalayas. They are perennial, clean, cold and sweet. It was a sheer bliss just sitting by the river.
We travelled in a Tempo traveller and for that last leg of the journey, we had to shift to a 4×4 Bolero as the roads were narrow and steep. Since we were 8 of us along with a driver and a helper, 4 of us ended up standing behind the car on the truck bed.
It was such an eventful ride. We had hardly anything to hold tightly. And for the way the car was shaking, we did not have any control of the direction in which our bodies were propelled. My iPhone thought that I am running and told me I have run a total of 5km just during the truck ride. 🤣
The stay

We reached this unassuming village and had good dinner served. There is something about Himachalis proving Paneer. Everywhere we had a paneer dish, there was a sumptuous of not excess amount of paneer added.
After dinner, checked out the basic bathrooms with freezing water. The water was ready to freeze anything that came in contact with it. We later went for a walk and then went to sleep.
The night
5 men slept in a room and 3 women slept in another. The advantage of sleeping with men was no one cared about the other snoring as everyone was snoring themselves. I felt I don’t need to explain or defend my snoring issues as it felt like a everyone understood each other.
I woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe. As usual I panicked and all kinds of stupid thoughts raced through my head. I calmed down and it was just that my nose was blocked and the blockage was getting stronger due to the small stuffy room and the fact that I was lying down. I got up and sat, and within 2 mins everything was normal. I tried to sleep back again and I partially succeeded. Tomorrow night I will use Vicks.
What next

From today on, we will be trekking to places which will have no houses and hence no mobile network too. We will be off the radar for may be 4-5 days. But with Mukesh bhai’s Jio, you never know. Poori India me ab Jio.
