I was reading something and stumbled upon an interesting fact. The fastest growing language in the US is Telugu. Yes. Not Spanish. Not Arabic not Hindi. It’s Telugu.
To check my facts I did a bit of googling and it’s indeed true. See the BBC report on this.
The most popular languages in terms of population of people speaking it, after English are still Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Arabic, Korean in that order. Telugu has a lot of volume to catch up. But it’s growing at an amazing rate.
Some other interesting facts were Bengali and Tamil were growing faster than Hindi. More detailed data here.
