Udaipur – Parting thoughts

I stayed in Udaipur for over a week. I spent the new year here. When I came in, I was bothered about the crowd and sleepy streets in the morning.

After spending time both before new year and post new year, there is a heavy feeling while I leave the city. Nobody cares about me being or leaving the city. Yet it feels weird.

Old city roads. Udaipur.

I loved the the time at old city, which was most of my time in Udaipur. I walked a lot in those gulleys to experience the place and taste the food. The streets were filled with Jewellery shops, handicrafts shops, sweet and namkeen shops clothing shops and picture painting shops. The picture paining stops really stood out.

Sweet shops. Udaipur.

I loved the street food also here. I wrote a separate post on it.

The place was a mix of palaces, lakes, temples, shops, people and food. There was music. Everywhere. Right from Hanuman Chalisa to Bollywood to hip-hop all playing simultaneously.

Hanuman Ghat temple. Udaipur.
Loundry shop.
Sardiwala – Udaipur
Deener

I loved the phonetically spelled words. There was also a shop called Sardiwala (a surname may be). I thought what they would sell in Summer.

Overall I loved the time here. I had my tired days, good days and bad days. But looking back it’s time well spent.
