I visited this place called Dark Canyon. It’s a rocky place carved like a canyon by a river. Right now it’s dry and so one can get down and see the place. It’s not very big. May be 8-10 feet deep.
People over here are obsessed with taking pictures. That too, good pictures. Almost everyone knows how to pose, everyone knows good camera angles, and good lighting. When I went to dark canyon I saw atlesst 3 groups taking pictures. One was a pre-wedding and two were taking photos for Instagram. The photos where taken on DSLR cameras and the girl really knew how to pose.
The others were also professional. They had the umbrellas and what not. This was such a new thing to me both in Ahmedabad and now in Bhuj. People actually put efforts to pose and also use good devices and camera angles to take good pictures. Even if it’s for personal use or Instagram.
And in all this I almost felt bad telling them to take pictures of me. On one side they dress so well and pose so well and here I am with crazy flying hair with sunburnt face and backpack trying to pose not knowing if I have to keep my hands in the pocket or outside.
