I went to a small hill nearby called Bhujio Hill. It is believed that Kutch was ruled by the Nagas. The last Naga’s name was called Bhujang. He lived in the hills and it was hence called Bhujia Hill. The foothills of Bhujia was called Bhuj. Can you now also relate to Bhujangasana, the snake pose in yoga?

Another story around Kutch and snakes is that it is believed that Kutch area sits over the body of the snake. And the snake moves and that is what causes so many earthquakes in the region. Definitely there is something around Nagas and Kutch. Need to explore this angle even more.
There is a fort built on the hill and you can climb the walls if the fort to a fort watchtower. The entire city of Bhuj is visible from there. There was nobody when I went there. The views were stunning.

I reached there just before sunset and sat down a good 30 minutes to witness the Sunset from the top of the hill. It was a very pleasant experience. One thing about subsets. It feels like the sun goes in so fast the moment it touches the horizon. Till then it feels it’s slowly moving.

I retire after a good dinner at a South Indian Restaurant. Not that I was craving to eat South a Indian. I just wanted to see what they serve as South Indian here. I have never seen dosa stuffed with so much masala like an Aalo paratha and cut like a spring roll. Nor have I seen so much Sambar served for a single dosa. But yeah, that’s South Indian in Bhuj. Can’t complain.
