Next was to Sabarmati Ashram. Here I saw the place where Modi and Xi Jinping sat and posed (or may be discussed about India China). I saw the room where Ghandhiji sat and had all his important meetings. Saw the various Kutirs where different people stayed etc.
The place is on the banks of the river Sabarmati which is the cleanest river I have seen that in an Indian city. It is has lot of birds and squirrels. Parrots just don’t stop chattering here. I wonder how Gandhiji had his meetings in peace.
I also saw a lot of handwritten letters from Gandhiji. One thing that was interesting is in all the letters he wrote the place as “The Ashram, Sabarmati”. Almost like it is THE Ashram. 😬
The place is maintained extremely well and it’s super peaceful to just sit there if you are ok with bird shit falling on you.
