A day in Amdavad

As I sit at “The green house” opposite to Sidi Saiyyad Mosque, having clocked over 25k steps today, I am tired but Amdavad gave me a flavour of a lot of things. Just like a Gujarati thali.

I saw penguins, I went to an ashram, I saw spiritual gurus, I went to places where critical decision on Indian independence were taken, I witnessed amazing architecture, I walked by the river, I saw fountains and flower gardens, i saw peacocks, I went inside and saw rich peoples’ houses, I saw a train going around a lake, I ate a full Gujarati Thali, I got fooled by a so called Heritage walk and ….. I walked I walked and I walked.

I had booked a full day cab which will take me to different places in the city. The cab driver was a perennially irritated and pan chewing old man who had no interest in doing whatever he was doing. When I booked it, I had expected something like this and was mentally prepared to be on my own.

All said Ahmedabad has something for everyone. There are a lot of things to do for different kinds of people. Doesn’t matter if you are solo, with ur partner, family etc. Amdavad has something to offer you.

It also has a lot of Photo crazy people. I have never seen so many people put in so much effort to take good pictures. They genuinely think about their pose, the angle of the photo, the lighting. It was very new and strange to me. And this is done by 8/10 people taking photos. No random clicks.

There are multiple posts capturing the Amdavad experience. Make sure you read them.
